Hiking in New Zealand

New Zealand has something to do for everyone but if you are a nature enthusiast then it’s true beauty is best experienced on foot. There are nine great walks for hikers to indulge in. The hikes in New Zealand are breath taking and expose you to nature and wildlife in its purest form.

The nine great walks leads you to the most majestic places in New Zealand, away from civilization. The well know of the nine is Fiordland’s Milford Track.  This hike has unimaginable views of clear lakes, mountain peaks and the largest waterfall in New Zealand. The hike is 53km long with stunning views all around. The second famous hike of the nine is the Heaphy Track. It is a bit longer at 82km but every step is worth it. The hike will probably take about 5 days so pace your selves. During the Heaphy Track you come in touch with rainforest, high mountains, all the way to golden sandy beaches.

There are hikes that are more suited to do with children but it really depends if your children can handle the distances. The hikes are safe and you can create many games for kids as you walk along. If you are concerned about taking your children along then perhaps ask for a guided hike where the guide will be able to assist you.
